Tim will share the journey undertaken, next steps and the importance of sharing this information across the sector, supporting each other to harness the power of AI.

Generative AI presents new and innovative opportunities for Local Government. However, due to its rapid evolution and uptake, the risks involved in their use need to be considered and assessed. As Senior Associate at Norman Waterhouse Lawyers, Kane supports the South Australian local government sector to grow local economies and communities through the provision of legal, commercial and strategic advice regarding major commercial, infrastructure and development projects.
Kane will explore the do’s and don’ts for practical implementation of generative AI tools, including accountability, transparency and explainability, privacy protection and security, intellectual property considerations, fairness and bias issues.
