If you work in the field of community development, community services or a related field and have a passion for building stronger communities, shaping the future of community development, and would like to connect with like-minded professionals in local government, we encourage you to join our LG Professionals SA Community Development Network

Network aim

  • To lead, drive and celebrate the practice of community development.
  • To understand and respond to trends, opportunities, and challenges in the community sector, and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • To provide a trusted platform for peer support and networking for the sector and strategic partners.
  • To offer timely, engaging, topical and relevant opportunities for professional development.
  • To position and prepare the community development sector for future changes.
  • To enhance the network’s visibility with impactful and engaging marketing and branding.

Who should join?

LG Professionals SA members who work in the field of community development, community services or a related field in local government are encouraged to join.

If you are not in a leadership position in this field, please reach out to networks@lgprofessionalssa.org.au to discuss your eligibility.

Nominate to join the Community Development Network Committee

The Community Development Network Committee develops, delivers and promotes professional development and networking opportunities for members, working in the field of community development, community services or related fields.

If you play a key role within your council in the space of community services or community development and would like to be part of a passionate and dedicated committee, please take this opportunity to get involved.

The committee meet every 8 weeks, and offer a range of opportunities for members throughout the year. Distance shouldn’t be a barrier to being involved - meetings are held via Microsoft Teams as well as in person at LG House.
