Discover the outstanding projects and people shaping the future of local government through our AMPLIFY Awards Spotlight Series. This new initiative has been created to shine a light on the finalists of the 25th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards, providing a new way for our members to learn from the people, projects and ideas being recognised across the local government sector.

Across 11 webinars, each session will focus on a different award category, giving finalists the opportunity to share their projects, unpack their approach and highlight the outcomes they have achieved for their councils and communities.

Hear firsthand about the challenges they overcame, the lessons they learned, and the outcomes they achieved, while connecting with your peers from across the sector. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, inspiration, or opportunities to collaborate, these sessions offer a unique chance to learn from some of local government's most outstanding leaders and projects.

AMPLIFY is designed to elevate best practice, support cross-council learning and create more opportunities for sector-wide connection in an accessible online format.

The finalists we will hear from in the category of Excellence in Customer Service or Experience are:

From Outsourced to Outstanding: Capability Built from Within

Amy Fagan - Team Leader Customer Service, Adelaide Plains Council

Sean Murphy - Senior Information Technology Officer, Adelaide Plains Council

What happens when a small internal team takes on a technology transformation that would traditionally be outsourced? Adelaide Plains Council's largest-ever systems migration demonstrates how strategic planning, collaboration and in-house capability can deliver stronger service outcomes, improved cyber security and long-term organisational resilience.

People-Powered Continuous Improvement Success

Claire Bircumshaw - Continuous Improvement and Change Lead, City of Marion

Continuous improvement is often treated as a project, but the City of Marion has made it part of everyday work. Learn how empowering employees to identify problems and implement solutions has improved customer experiences, streamlined processes and created a culture where innovation is owned by everyone.

Tourism Triumphs: Wild Vision, Real Action

Jenny Barnes - Events and Tourism Lead, Whyalla City Council

Ali Sanders - Visitor Experience Coordinator, Whyalla City Council

How can a regional visitor centre become a destination experience in its own right?
