Join us for our next Network Lunch and Learn Session hosted by the LG Professionals SA Community Development Network.
Ageing well looks different across every level of community life. For a council, it means planning inclusive places, services and partnerships that support people to stay connected, active, safe and valued as they grow older. For an individual, it means having the confidence, choices and support to maintain wellbeing, independence, purpose and social connection. For a community, ageing well is reflected in strong intergenerational relationships, accessible local environments, respect for older people’s contributions, and a shared commitment to ensuring everyone can participate, belong and thrive at every stage of life.
Rachel Nielsen, Research and Engagement Manager, COTA SA
Rachel’s discussion will focus on 'The Plug-in' which is designed to deliver end-to-end research and provides actionable insights for clients to meet their needs. Rachel is deeply committed to ensuring that the voices and lived experiences of older people are central to the development of products, services, and policies that affect them.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A at the end of this session.
Heidi Hodge, Manager Community Services, Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council
Heidi will be presenting on her recently developed Ageing Well Plan and the journey ahead to implementation.
Celine Luya, Manager Community Services, City of West Torrens
Celine will share City of West Torrens’ Ageing Well journey since its transition from the Commonwealth Home Support Programme in 2022. She will reflect on the challenges, successes, and lessons learned, and explain how these experiences have shaped a thriving Ageing Well portfolio, and how Ageing Well is a whole of local government responsibility.
