Discover the outstanding projects and people shaping the future of local government through our AMPLIFY Awards Spotlight Series. This new initiative has been created to shine a light on the finalists of the 25th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards, providing a new way for our members to learn from the people, projects and ideas being recognised across the local government sector.

Across 11 webinars, each session will focus on a different award category, giving finalists the opportunity to share their projects, unpack their approach and highlight the outcomes they have achieved for their councils and communities.

Hear firsthand about the challenges they overcame, the lessons they learned, and the outcomes they achieved, while connecting with your peers from across the sector. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, inspiration, or opportunities to collaborate, these sessions offer a unique chance to learn from some of local government's most outstanding leaders and projects.

AMPLIFY is designed to elevate best practice, support cross-council learning and create more opportunities for sector-wide connection in an accessible online format.

The finalists we will hear from in the category of Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion are:

Pathways to Purpose

Andrew Frangos - Employment Outcomes Coordinator, City of Playford

Renee Brooker - Volunteer Coordinator, Families SA

How can councils create meaningful employment pathways for young people with disability while strengthening their own workforce? City of Playford's Pathways to Purpose program has developed an innovative, internally led model that transforms volunteering into a supported pathway to employment, training and education. With outstanding participant outcomes and a scalable framework, this session will explore how councils can embed inclusion into workforce development and create lasting organisational change.

Women in City Assets Program

Fiona Harvey - Director City Assets, City of Port Adelaide Enfield

Justene Knight - Team Leader - Organisational Development, City of Port Adelaide Enfield

Breaking down barriers in traditionally male-dominated industries requires more than good intentions. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield's Women in City Assets Program is delivering measurable change through a comprehensive, evidence-based strategy that is increasing female participation across construction, maintenance, engineering and leadership roles. Hear how culture, recruitment and workforce development initiatives are helping create a more inclusive and future-ready workforce, and what other councils can learn from the journey.

From Barriers to Belonging

James Catterall - Social Policy and Sport Planner

Michael Foley - Sports4All Inclusion Coach, City of Salisbury

Discover how lived experience is transforming inclusion across community sport and recreation. The City of Salisbury's Inclusion Coach model places practical accessibility and belonging at the centre of planning, facilities, programs and events. Working directly with clubs, schools and council teams, the initiative is helping remove barriers and create more inclusive opportunities for participation. This presentation will share valuable insights for councils looking to move inclusion beyond policy and into everyday practice.

This webinar will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
