Discover the outstanding projects and people shaping the future of local government through our AMPLIFY Awards Spotlight Series. This new initiative has been created to shine a light on the finalists of the 25th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards, providing a new way for our members to learn from the people, projects and ideas being recognised across the local government sector.
Across 11 webinars, each session will focus on a different award category, giving finalists the opportunity to share their projects, unpack their approach and highlight the outcomes they have achieved for their councils and communities.
Hear firsthand about the challenges they overcame, the lessons they learned, and the outcomes they achieved, while connecting with your peers from across the sector. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, inspiration, or opportunities to collaborate, these sessions offer a unique chance to learn from some of local government's most outstanding leaders and projects.
AMPLIFY is designed to elevate best practice, support cross-council learning and create more opportunities for sector-wide connection in an accessible online format.
The finalists we will hear from in the category of Excellence in Infrastructure Delivery (projects under $2m) are:

Adrian Gray - Manager Design and Technical Services, City of Adelaide
You’ll hear how a standard residential road renewal was transformed into a vibrant, people-focused public space that is redefining the way Adelaide thinks about local streets. This presentation showcases how community-led design, innovative infrastructure and urban greening combined to create a safer, more connected and more liveable neighbourhood, while delivering outstanding value for the community.
Port Broughton Civic Square Redevelopment
Bridget Johns - Grants and Investment Coordinator, Barunga West Council
Steve Daniel - Works Coordinator, Barunga West Council
At the heart of Port Broughton’s foreshore, a once underutilised space has been transformed into a vibrant civic destination that brings together recreation, remembrance and cultural recognition. This presentation highlights how Barunga West Council delivered a high-quality, award-worthy community asset for less than half the original projected cost, creating a thriving gathering place that is already enriching community life and attracting visitors year-round.

Mark Gibson - Director Assets and Environment, District Council of Yankalilla
Nick Noack - Operations Business Manager, District Council of Yankalilla

By using in situ stabilisation to rebuild 880 metres of road, the project significantly reduced costs and carbon emissions while improving safety, resilience and freight access, demonstrating how councils can achieve more with limited resources.
