A word from the CEO

This month we welcome a new Board - congratulations to all those re-elected and welcome to Paul Sutton, Michael Sedgman, Dylan Strong, Hugh McIntosh and Alan Harvey. Details of the full board can be found here. I look forward to navigating our continued growth and the opportunities that reforms will bring. Speaking of reforms, we have put in a submission regarding the use of a tribunal to set CEO salaries per the WA model. This idea received strong support at our recent CEO Network Forum.

A huge congratulations to Remark Paringa Council, this year's Rural Management Challenge Winner and kudos to all nine teams representing twelve councils for a stellar effort! You can read more about the event below.

Hope to see you at one of our events soon,

Taryn Sexton

"The LG Professionals, SA HR Network capped off an exciting year of activity with our conference ‘The Brand of HR: Perception, Influence and Impact’ held at the Adelaide Convention Centre Friday 13 September 2019.

The theme surrounding this years conference was around re-defining the brand of HR to be more strategic drivers of performance and having a stronger impact on the bottom line. We invited along a stellar line up of speakers to share their insights with us.

A special thank you to all of those who were a part of the day: Peter Bice, Hannah Brown, Lesley Marchioro, Steph Roberts, Adrian Skull, Helen Macdonald, Andrew Aitken, Carla Leversedge, Nicola Lipscombe and our fabulous HR Committee who assisted in facilitating the World Cafe workshop.

The whole day was a resounding success, starting and ending on high notes, and our back pockets full of ideas to share with our colleagues back in the office.
