2015 - Adelaide

And the Winner is…… Mid Murray Council!!!

Thursday 15 October saw 7 rural teams gather at the Chifley on South Terrace to compete in this year’s Rural Management Challenge.  It was a tough race, but Mid Murray Council came out on top, followed by Wattle Range Council and Rural City of Murray Bridge.

A big thank you to all teams, our wonderful facilitator and volunteers for a fantastic day.Thank you also to our corporate partners LGFA, LGRS, McArthur, Statewide, Norman Waterhouse Lawyers and Telstra and to our Event Partners, UHY Haines Norton, Tonkin Consulting, Maloney Field Services and Civica for your valued support.

2014 -Mount Gambier

A record number of eight rural council teams came together in Mount Gambier on Thursday 16th October to compete in the annual Rural Management Challenge – a day of teamwork, tight deadlines and plenty of creative thinking! The winning team on the day was Yorke Peninsula Council (aka the Peninsula Powerhouse! - the winning team is pictured right) and all teams celebrated the day's successes at an Awards Dinner held that evening at The Barn Palais. Congratulations!

2013 - Port Augusta

What a day it was! 7 teams from Rural councils battled long and hard all day through various challenges and trials. Teams from Yorke Peninsula Council, Barossa Council, Port Augusta, Wakefield Regional, Whyalla, Renmark Paringa and Light Regional Council took part - and the overall standard of the teams was incredibly high.  All teams are to be congratulated on their efforts.  But in the end there could be only one winner - and the spoils went to Yorke Peninsula, (team pictured below) with Light Regional a close runner up.

2012 - Renmark

On 9 October, seven council teams came together in beautiful Renmark to compete in the second annual Rural Management Challenge. Each team played the role of the Management Team of the District Council of Galeforz and took on numerous tasks and surprises throughout the day using their enthusiasm, intellect and teamwork.  The winning team was announced at a Celebratory Dinner that evening.

Congratulations to the District Council of Yorke Peninsula (pictured below) and also to the Runners Up, Mid Murray Council.

2011 - Mount Gambier

October 13th  2011 LGMA (SA) held a pilot Rural Management Challenge down at the lovely South East Coast City - Mt Gambier.  5 excited teams from across the region participated in the challenge and attended a dinner that night to see who the winning team would be.Congratulations to the City of Mount Gambier on winning! A big thank you also goes to Terry Bruun, our Facilitator and to our volunteer observers: Heather Barclay, Vanessa Davidson, Victoria Minenko, Emma Morgan and Anna Pullen. Thank you too to our sponsors, LGFA, McArthur, Local Super, the ASU and Maloney’s Field Services and to the District Council of Grant for your local knowledge and assistance.
