  • 2019 Executive Leaders Program

A word from the CEO

May has been very high energy, starting with the Management Challenge - 18 teams from a variety of councils participated in this annual event aimed at developing team and leadership skills, as well as breaking down silos and building knowledge of local government. The winner of the Management Challenge was announced at our 18th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards Gala Dinner together with all of our Award winners - read on for the full list of winners. It was a fabulous night shared by 500 local government professionals as we celebrated hard work, collaboration and innovation. Congratulations to all winners and finalists, and thanks to our sponsors for your recognition and support.

Finally, the 2019 Emerging Leaders Program commenced with the Opening Retreat where we welcomed the 14th cohort of Emerging Leaders. We look forward to supporting you on your program journey.

Do you have a Professional Development Voucher?

As the financial year comes to a close, we encourage you to spend any remaining Professional Development Vouchers, which will expire on 30 June. You can redeem these towards our Economic Development Conference, the Executive Leaders Program, or book in-house training. If you're unsure if you have a Professional Development Voucher, please speak to your bundle administrator or email

If you'd like us to come out and have a chat about your council's training needs over the next 6, 12, 24 months and beyond - we'd love to come and visit your council so do get in touch.

Happy end of financial year to all,

Taryn Sexton
