A word from the CEO

July brings with it the start of a new financial year and, for many of us, new plans and goals. It is also cold and cosy and many people are sick or recovering from colds, so it can be difficult to feel motivated or forward looking, and we can easily lean into the comfort of 'busy work', like routine tasks and surface work, over deep work.

It is important that we are kind to ourselves and honour those times we seek quiet, but equally we need to recognise the difference between a rut and a rest. Our professional development programs can help with this. Our upcoming Short Program 'Managing Your Time, Energy and Priorities' can help clear away the winter cobwebs and boost your effectiveness, productivity and sense of accomplishment, while our Executive Leaders Program will transform your perspectives, interpretations and thinking, opening up whole new ways of approaching old problems.

These are just two of many exciting and relevant development opportunities aimed at supporting you on your career journey. I also invite you to save the date for our AGM on 11 September, which will be followed by a cocktail party—hope you can join us!

Happy reading,

Taryn Sexton
